🧠 Assessment Protocols

The Science of Understanding Before Prescribing
Presented by BodyGNTX Fitness Institute | MMSx Authority – In collaboration with ASFU

🔍 Why Assessment is Non-Negotiable in Movement Science

Before you correct movement… you must first decode it.

Whether you’re working with athletes, rehab clients, or general population, biomechanical assessment ensures your training is precise, personalized, and progressive.

At BodyGNTX, we don’t believe in generic fixes — we believe in informed intervention. This page outlines the gold-standard Assessment Protocols used across our MMSx framework and coaching ecosystem.

📌 What You’ll Find Here:

  • Static & Dynamic Posture Evaluation
  • Movement Pattern Screens (Squat, Hinge, Push, Pull, Lunge, Rotate)
  • Stability & Motor Control Checks
  • Joint-Specific Mobility Screens
  • Core Function & Breathing Assessments
  • Performance-Based Tests for Return to Play
  • Printable Forms & Video Demos

📐 1. Postural Blueprint Assessment

Analyze alignment of head, shoulder, spine, pelvis, knee, and ankle using side, front, and rear views.

Tools:

  • Plumb line or digital app
  • Posture grid (optional)

Common Red Flags:

  • Forward head + kyphotic thoracic collapse
  • Anterior pelvic tilt
  • Knee valgus during stance

🏃‍♂️ 2. Fundamental Movement Pattern Screen

Screens include:

  • Overhead Squat
  • Wall Push & Push-Up
  • Single-Leg Stand & Reach
  • Hip Hinge Drill (Stick or Band)
  • Step Down / Lunge Control

Each test is scored on:

  1. Mobility Limitation
  2. Stability Deficiency
  3. Motor Pattern Error

🔄 3. Joint-by-Joint Mobility Testing

Cervical | Shoulder | Thoracic | Hip | Ankle | Wrist

Tests include:

  • Thoracic spine extension on wall
  • Shoulder 90/90 ER & IR
  • Hip internal & external rotation
  • Ankle dorsiflexion knee-to-wall test

Track limitations in degrees or side-to-side discrepancy.

💡 4. Breathing & Core Activation Assessment

Check if the core is reactive, responsive, and well-patterned.

Protocols:

  • Diaphragmatic breath test (supine & standing)
  • Abdominal wall control under load (plank, bird-dog)
  • TVA activation test
  • Deadbug & pelvic tilt control

🎯 5. Pro-Level Return-to-Play Metrics

Used in sports rehabilitation phase or post-injury assessment:

  • Rate of Force Development (RFD) using jump mats or med ball throws
  • Ground Contact Time (GCT) tracking
  • Multiplanar hop test
  • Reactive control: Y-balance or BOSU challenge
